Primo, a Paris based startup building a unified platform for corporate IT teams, has raised 8 million dollars in a funding round aimed at scaling autonomous AI agents that can execute IT tasks end to end without human intervention.
The round was co led by California based Headline and Global Founders Capital, the venture capital platform tied to Rocket Internet. It also drew backing from two notable French tech founders acting as angel investors: Arthur Waller, co founder and chief executive of accounting platform Pennylane, and Romain Niccoli, co founder and chief executive of planning software company Pigment.
Founded in 2022 by Martin Pannier, Primo brings together a company's devices, software access, employee identity data, and IT support requests into a single system of record. Rather than IT teams juggling separate tools to track laptops, manage SaaS licenses, provision accounts, and field help desk tickets, Primo consolidates that operational data into one platform, which the company then uses as the foundation for its AI agents.
Pannier has described the company's ambition as repositioning IT within an organization, arguing that it has traditionally been treated as a cost center to be endured rather than a function that can actively create leverage. With the new funding, Primo intends to let its AI agents handle repetitive, process heavy IT work, such as onboarding a new employee across every system they need access to, revoking that same access when someone leaves the company, and managing permission changes as roles shift, while keeping the traceability and audit controls that IT and security teams require.
Jonathan Userovici, a partner at Headline, said many AI tools can answer a question but few can act reliably at the core of a company's information systems, and that Primo's advantage lies in already having assembled the context, integrations, and rules needed to execute IT operations autonomously and securely rather than building that foundation from scratch.
Primo's traction outside its home market appears to be a significant factor behind investor interest. The company says international customers already make up more than half of its user base, a notable proportion for a four year old startup headquartered in Paris. With the fresh capital, Primo plans to deepen its footprint in markets where it has already gained a foothold, specifically the United Kingdom, Germany, the Benelux countries, and the Nordics, while also growing its headcount. The company has said it intends to roughly double its team size over the coming months across engineering, sales, and customer facing roles.
The funding lands as a broader wave of startups race to move AI agents beyond conversational assistants and into systems capable of taking autonomous action inside enterprise infrastructure, a shift that has drawn intensifying venture capital interest across regions and verticals throughout 2026. What distinguishes Primo's pitch within that wave is its narrow focus on IT operations specifically, a function where the cost of an agent making an incorrect autonomous decision, such as revoking the wrong employee's system access, carries immediate operational risk. That has pushed the company to emphasize traceability and control alongside autonomy, rather than positioning unrestricted agent action as the primary selling point.
For enterprise IT departments still managing sprawling combinations of point solutions for device management, identity, and support tickets, Primo is betting that consolidation paired with AI execution, rather than AI alone, is what actually reduces the operational burden. Whether that combination proves durable against both larger identity and device management incumbents adding their own agentic features and newer AI native challengers will likely determine how quickly Primo can convert its early international traction into a defensible position across the European IT operations market.
